Save Weston Big Wood
Local landowners have expressed interest in selling fields around Weston Big Wood for housing development.

On Friday 8th October 2021 a community meeting will be held at Somerset Hall, at 19:00, to discuss the campaign to protect Weston Big Wood. This campaign is being led by three community groups: Wild Portishead, Friends of North Weston Wood and Portishead Down Safeguarding Group.

Representatives from Portishead Town Council and North Somerset Council will also be in attendance and will share information on the planning process as well as updates on the NSC Local Plan and the Portishead Neighbourhood Development Plan.

Bernie D’Arcy (Avon Wildlife Trust) and Chris Sperring MBE (Wild Portishead) will give presentations about the special status of the wood and its importance within the wider Gordano Valley. After this there will be a panel discussion. We invite you to submit questions and comments in advance. This will help our panellists to make sure they address the questions that are important to you. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions from the floor.

The question and comment form can be completed anonymously, or you can choose to provide your name and contact details. UKGDPR and other privacy information can be found HERE. By submitting this form you consent to the processing of your data for the purposes of this event.
